I had my broadband, telephone and tv package installed 1 week ago...

From the very start my engineer was saying that he thought my modem was faulty but then it suddenly worked... then he thought my tv box was faulty and had already used his spare but managed to get that to work eventually too.

Every single time i try to connect to the internet i have problems. I have to reboot the modem and or my pc and decided to call to see what the problem was today. The advisor eventually found me on the system after not being able to do so from my telephone number nor my account number (not very confidence inspiring)....

We went through the trouble i was having and i was told to do what i had done before but also unplug the white aerial lead which we plugged back in after the reboot of the pc and the modem. The LAN still showed me as having 'limited or no connectivity' after which the advisor went on to tell me that it was a problem with my computer and the program called 'windows socket layer'?? (I think this is what he said as he was foreign and it was difficult to hear properly).

Off my own back i connected my laptop to the ethernet cable and tried to connect through that and low and behold i still had the same trouble!?!
I have by fluke and keeping unplugging the modem been able to jump onto the internet and wondered if anyone here has had this problem??

I am really unconvinced about virginmedia thus far and am not looking forward to my year with them if i am going to be faced with this every day i try to log on...

Look forward to hearing from anyone who may have experienced this...

PS... and what is this all about with Microsfot Outlook?? I can receive my email but not send.... not impressed... Mad
